Samantha was aware that being around other people in broad daylight increased her chances of remaining alone. Raven was on alert, as they approached an ATM. This showed that Raven took his role as Samantha’s protector very seriously. Raven’s vigilance, despite the apparent safer conditions, reminded Samantha of her trusty companion who was ready to take action if something went wrong.
