Twenty Major Benefits of Breastfeeding for Mother and Child

If a mother chooses not to lactate, she should never be made to feel as though she is not doing enough for her child. This is a highly personal decision that many women will find agonizing, challenging, or upsetting. Others may be physically incapable of breastfeeding or on medication. There are many highly successful and healthy adults who were not breastfed as young infants!

Parenting varies from person to person. The only norm is to never judge another parent’s parenting style.
However, the most prevalent piece of advice given to new mothers is that breastfeeding is preferred. If both options are available, this is the healthiest option.

There are numerous reasons for this beyond the nutritional benefits that the infant will experience. Following are twenty compelling reasons to breastfeed.

1.It contains Bioavailable Nutrients

Bioavailability refers to the ease with which we can extract and utilize nutrients from the foods we eat. Although two different consumables may contain the same amount of amino acids, minerals, or any other nutrient, we may derive more or less benefit from each contingent on the ease with which we can utilize those nutrients.

Almost always, the most bioavailable sources of nutrients are those that occur naturally in our diet. The reason for this is that the human body has adapted to make the greatest use of these foods because it evolved consuming them. Comparatively, it is simpler to absorb the same amount of vitamin C from an apple than from a vitamin tablet.

Frequently, this depends on the other nutrients present in the diet alongside the essential nutrient. Breast milk functions similarly, but to a much greater degree.
