Chest pain can be a common symptom of any infection or illness that affects the lung. This can refer to the common flu or cold, which is something that most people get every year. However, serious chest pain and a persistent cough lasting more than three weeks may indicate a tuberculosis.

Chest pain and persistent cough can be serious symptoms. It could be tuberculosis or another respiratory or chronic infection. You will need to get diagnosed and treated. You should consult your doctor if you experience chest pain.

Chest pain, if it is not due to tuberculosis, can indicate the presence of many other conditions. Many of these may be heart-related (and can even be an early warning sign for a heart attack).
