Stinging Nettle has many benefits.

8. Alleviates Osteoarthritis

Have you ever felt that your joints were stiff? After a period of inactivity, do your joints feel stiffer? You may need to see your doctor if you feel stiffer after not moving for a while. Osteoarthritis, or OA as it is commonly known, is a ailment of the joints. It is also a progressive condition, which means that the symptoms will worsen as time goes on.

There is no cure for this condition, but you can treat the swelling and pain. Nettle tea is one of the possible treatments. Stinging nettle contains phytotherapeutic compounds such as plant oils, phytoestrogens and fatty acid. These compounds have beneficial effects for osteoarthritis and joint pain. The nettle leaf extract can be used to inhibit inflammation in autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
