Muscular Weakness

The name of the disorder, spinal muscular atrophy, indicates that it causes muscle weakness and gradual muscle loss. SMA patients’ muscle mass continues to decrease. This causes difficulty moving and low balance. In SMA, the voluntary muscles are more affected by the muscular weakness. SMA causes muscle shrinkage and difficulty in developing muscles for children.
