This antioxidant protects the biome from pathogens and disease. Ergothioneine contains Sulphur. This compound is effective against bacterial infections. Ergothioneine, one of the few known sources of Sulphur is deficient in many people.

Ergothioneine helps the body eliminate free radicals. These particles can cause the death of cells through a process called oxidation.

These mushrooms also contain polysaccharides, beta-glucans and organic antibiotics. These micronutrients have similar effects to penicillin. These compounds boost the immune system, limit fungal infections and inhibit microbial growth. Polysaccharides can also heal stomach ulcers, as they reduce acidity.
