Croup: 14 signs and symptoms

Croup: 14 signs and symptoms

6. Mucus and discharge

The symptoms of croup cough are similar to those associated with sinus and respiratory infections. This includes the production of mucus or discharge. The body tries to get rid of the infection by making the sinuses and nose run constantly.

You may also experience headaches due to the build-up of pressure in your sinuses. The buildup of pressure inside the sinuses can cause headaches. This is in addition to the other headaches that are associated with this condition.

Inhaling steam from a bowl filled with water can help to reduce this discharge. This will soften the phlegm and help it to drain.
