Bacterial Vaginosis: 14 Causes

1. Unprotected Sex

Even though bacterial vaginitis is not a sexually transmissible disease but a type of bacterial infection, unprotected sex between multiple partners can increase your risk of contracting it.

You’ll notice the first symptoms a few days to weeks after contracting the condition, although many cases show no symptoms. The first symptoms will appear a few days or weeks after the infection, but many cases do not show any symptoms.The pH of the vagina can be affected by sex with multiple partners, or excessive cleaning and douching. You are at a higher risk for bacterial vaginosis, or other conditions that can have similar symptoms and signs.
