Most celebrities buy property to have a spacious, comfortable home. Kanye West bought the house he did in 2019 for a different reason. It was the house where he had grown up. His mother had sold it reportedly because she was worried about its influence on him.
The charity Donda’s House had purchased the house with the intention to turn it into a community center, but things did not go according to plan. The house was feared to be demolished because of “significant structural damages.” Kanye bought the house back for $225,000 and plans to renovate it.
