14 signs of throat problems

The tube in your throat is responsible for carrying air and food from your esophagus to your windpipe and larynx. The throat is technically called the pharynx. The throat is a common problem.

It is likely that your throat was sore at one time or another. A viral infection is usually the culprit of a sore neck. Other causes of sore throats include allergies, strep bacteria, and stomach acid that leaks back into the esophagus. The barking cough is caused by croup, an inflammation of throat that occurs most often in young children.
