18 Foods that raise folate levels

6. Liver

You may not think of the liver when you consider healthy foods. This is one food you should add to your diet, if you don’t have it already. Beef and turkey liver are both excellent sources of folic acids. In 100g of Turkey, there are 691mcg folic acids. This is higher than the daily recommended amount.

A serving of three ounces of beef liver has 215 mcg folate. A pregnant woman will get enough folate with a single serving. You can add the meat to a stuffing or gravy if you don’t want to eat it straight. It is true that liver isn’t on everyone’s menu, but it can be very healthy.
