18 Foods that raise folate levels

11. Papaya

Papayas are a great choice if you enjoy sweet fruits that have oodles of flavor. It is an excellent fruit to include in your diet, as it contains folic acid and many other nutrients. A small papaya has 58 mcg folic, or 14 percent of your daily recommended value. It is a good source of folic, but also contains phosphorus and potassium.

You can eat papayas raw and get all the nutrients they have to offer. However, you can also add them to a dish to make it a little more savory or sweet. Addition of papaya in your diet, no matter how it is eaten, will provide your body with many nutrients.
