15 probiotic foods that promote good gut bacteria

8. Green Olives

Green olives are another food that’s not often thought of for its benefits. Olives that are brined with saltwater undergo a fermentation process. The lactic acid bacteria create acids which give the fruit its distinct taste. Green olives contain two different strains of living cultures.

Lactobacillus Plantarum and Lactobacillus Pentosus are the two strains. Both are isolated from olives and Lactobacillus Plantarum may help you achieve a flat stomach. This strain of probiotics helps to balance the bacteria in your gut. The amount of bloating can be reduced when the gut is in balance. Olives are especially good for those with irritable intestinal syndrome. Ask for extra olives next time you order a Martini. You’ll thank your gut.
