15 probiotic foods that promote good gut bacteria

2. Wine or Beer

Beer and wine are not the best sources of probiotics. Fermented alcoholic drinks such as beer and wine can be beneficial if consumed in moderation. Beer is made of barley grain. The vitamins that survive fermentation and filtering to create beer can reduce the formation of blood-clots, and improve levels of cholesterol.

Antioxidants are abundant in wine. Antioxidants help fight off free radicals. Unchecked free radicals can lead to many health problems in the gut as well as other parts of the body. Although beer and wine may not be the healthiest choices, a small glass every now and then can actually benefit your body. So pour yourself a drink in the evening, and enjoy.
