14 Trigger Finger Causes

  1. Surgical Procedure

If you undergo surgery on your hand for any reason, you may develop trigger finger. After surgery, the symptoms of trigger finger are typically temporary. In other cases, however, the condition is permanent. Carpal tunnel is a condition comparable to trigger finger. Inflammation and pain affecting the tendons that control all of your digits cause carpal tunnel syndrome.

If you are afflicted with carpal tunnel syndrome, surgery may be required to restore normal hand mobility and alleviate your discomfort. However, while surgery may alleviate carpal tunnel syndrome, it may also cause additional complications. The surgery may cause tendon irritation or tendon sheath injury. These complications may result in the onset of trigger finger. After surgery, it is normal to experience some rigidity and discomfort. However, if it persists for an extended period of time, you should consult a physician.
