14 Reasons Why you have Upper Abdominal Pain

14 Reasons Why you have Upper Abdominal Pain

14. Pancreatitis

Pancreatitisoccurs when the pancreas is inflamed. It is often caused by an infection, but it can also be cancer. This condition is characterized by a burning sensation or pain in the upper abdomen. Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting and fatigue. Pancreatitis can be treated with antibiotics. Many people find relief from moving and changing their sleeping or sitting positions.

Some foods can cause or worsen pancreatitis. Smoking and drinking alcohol can aggravate pancreatitis and increase pain. Exercise, relaxation, and drinking lots of fluids are all ways to prevent and treat pancreatitis. Surgery is sometimes required to correct the problem. This condition is often hospitalized because the pancreas organ is difficult to treat. Untreated pancreatitis is dangerous and can lead to other serious health issues.
