14 Reasons for Heel Spurs

  1. Extreme Training

Athletes who appreciate training have a difficult time pausing or slowing down, even when they are in pain. Athletes and runners who overtrain run the risk of developing bone spurs and central nervous system fatigue. When a person develops exhaustion of the central nervous system, it affects all body systems, including the skeletal system.

Your feet are intimately connected to your nervous system, and when it becomes overloaded, it can result in a loss of contraction efficacy. Over time, inefficient feet are more susceptible to injury and bone spur formation. Athletes must rest sufficiently between training sessions to enable their bodies to recover and their nervous systems to reset. In addition to affecting the nervous system, overtraining can cause the athlete’s heel pad to deteriorate.
