14 Natural Earache Treatments

Typically, when we think of earaches, we envision minors complaining of ear pain and having an ear infection. However, earaches can also affect adults. Frequently, an earache is caused by water or another liquid becoming caught in the ear canal. One of the leading causes of fluid becoming trapped in the ear and causing discomfort is swimming.

However, bacteria, wax, and extraneous objects that become lodged in the ear canal can also cause earaches. In addition to being extremely painful, ear pain can also throw off your equilibrium. If you are experiencing an earache, there are a number of things you can do to alleviate some of the discomfort.

Here are fourteen natural remedies for earaches.

  1. Shifting the Earldom

If you suspect that your earache is caused by fluid in your ear, you may want to attempt something as simple as wriggling the bottom of your earlobe. Shaking the cranium while tilting it to the side can help move the fluid down and out of the ear.

While shaking your cranium, pulling out your earlobe and shaking it can also be beneficial. Gently draw your earlobe down and wiggle it while tilting your head. If the water is not truly lodged in the ear canal, this method is usually effective.

After the water has been extracted from the ear canal, you will likely experience a reduction in discomfort. Obviously, this method will not work if the earache is caused by microorganisms or something other than water.
