14 Foods that cause kidney stones

7. Almonds can cause kidney stones.

Almonds are a healthier alternative to salty snacks. Almonds contain a lot of oxalate which prevents the body from absorbing calcium. Calcium builds up in kidneys when this occurs. The high oxalates content of almonds makes them more readily absorbed in the body. You may find it difficult to stop eating almonds if they are a favorite food.

Even the almonds found in chocolate bars can be harmful to your kidneys. Choose a healthy snack such as watery fruits. It’s not a good idea to eat almonds all the time. However, it is better for your kidneys. You should consult a physician if you notice you are suffering from back pain after eating almonds. You will be given a list of food to eat and avoid by the doctor.
