14 Common Symptoms of Pneumonia

4. The fever

The presence of a fever indicates that your body is fighting off an infection. Depending on the type of infection you have, the fever can range from mild to extremely high. A person who has contracted pneumonia may also acquire a fever.

Initially, the fever may be low and moderate. As symptoms persist, a high fever may develop. Some individuals with pneumonia experience body temperatures as high as 105 degrees Fahrenheit. With bacterial or aberrant pneumonia, developing a high fever is more common.

It is essential to keep your fever under control by using over-the-counter medications, refreshing baths, and other methods to bring it down, as a high fever can lead to a variety of other health complications. Additionally, you should seek immediate medical attention if your fever exceeds 102 degrees Fahrenheit, as these are extremely hazardous body temperature levels.
