10 Tips for Expertly Treating Ingrown Toenail

6. Oregano Essential Oil

Origanum vulgare is a wild oregano that has antiseptic and antibiotic properties. The oil is a powerful antiseptic and kills bacteria. It also cleanses infections. The oil is a great topical application for foot care all year round. The oil will kill any fungus between your toenails and toes. You should not apply the essential oregano directly to an ingrown toenail. Instead, mix it with a base oil.

Blend three drops oregano essential oil with three drops sesame oil. Press the oil with a cotton earbud into the ingrown nail. A stinging sensation may occur, which will subside into a warm glow. Remove the cotton bud, and cover it with plaster.

Repeat the treatment two times a day, for a full week. The morning after the second treatment, you should see a noticeable difference. Oregano oils can also be used as a soak. Add a few drops of oregano oil to warm water and soak your feet for 20-30 minutes.
