10 Tips for Expertly Treating Ingrown Toenail

2. Epsom Salt Soak

Epsom salts, also known as magnesium sulfurate, are a drying agent which heals and soothes skin. In your foot bath, dissolve a tablespoon of Epsom Salts in warm water. The solution will soften the skin surrounding the ingrown nails and provide an Anti-inflammatory Effect that makes it easier for you to remove it.

Magnesium in Epsom salts is an antiseptic that helps to clear any infection signs. Once a day, soak your foot in Epsom salts for 20-30 minutes. This treatment should cure the condition in seven days. As you dip your toe in the water, you may feel a slight stinging.

After a few moments, the stinging will stop as magnesium begins to do its job. It also provides pain relief. The Epsom salts will heal the skin that is inflamed around your nails while drawing out pus. After the soak, make sure you dry your feet thoroughly. The skin will become dry if you leave any magnesium behind.
